| Dimensions | The top on this ‘water bottle’ is impossible to keep clean! I hand wash this bottle and top after every use. Today I notice a buildup of a black substance all over the inside of the top, probably mold. It’s on the rim, on the spring mechanism and surrounding areas. I cleaned it, including boiling the top in water for several minutes. Long story short, I’m afraid to use this bottle again, money wasted! |
| Model Number | For the most part, i really like this bottle. It is absolutely leak-proof and keeps water SO cold, all day. Really the only downside, and it is a decent one, is that there’s no way for the lid piece to stay open. So you can hand wash the lid, but the piece that closes until you push the button stays closed as soon as you let go of the button, making it impossible for that little piece to fully dry. Other bottles that have that feature often have a piece you can open that allows the air to flow for washing purposes.I added two photos: the first is while I’m pushing the button, the second is while I’m not. |
| Color | This product is one of these products you find rarely but let me be clear about what I mean.This water bottle is amazing at keeping things cold. I went on a half-day hike in Malibu in the scorching heat and the water was ice-cold even at the end (mind you I had placed ice cubes in the bottle, but still!). It’s stylish and very ergonomic. Now I’m pretty sure there are other products as good. BUT other products as good are super expensive. I haven’t seen such a great insulated water bottle for such a low price. In that respect, this product is unique. Highly recommender. However need to know one pointer before your purchase:This product is not made for hot liquids so if you think you might need it for that purpose do not buy this. I made the mistake of putting hot tea a couple of times and the plastic lid at the top is now somewhat deformed which resulted in leaking.. but oh well, they do say it’s not for hot liquids so I guess it was my fault here. |
| Material | I loved this bottle, had it two years and always cleaned it…………I thought. I have been feeling sick lately and just happened to check the top dispenser of this bottle. OMG!!!! Under the metallic spring contraption there was filthy black mold everywhere and I have been drinking out of this for so long. It is impossible to clean, you cant take the top apart, it has some strange triangle screw tops and you can’t get in there. A q tip took out so much black mold stuff it was disgusting. I can’t get my money back at this point but so glad I finally saw the horrible mold growing. Soaking in bleach, brushing it does no good you can’t get under the dispenser mechanism. I am warning you do not buy this…… |
| Power Source | Disclaimer!!! I am deliberately using this in a way the mfr. says not to! Not advocating this, just sharing my experience. Don’t do it.First off, my 1 complaint. This doesn’t have the “easy clean lid” like the handled one of these I got my mom. That said, it’s easier than the old style auto-seal. Since I use it only for straight tea (Lapsang Souchong- if you haven’t tried it, order some now- Twinnings is a perfectly good, cheap option to try this- it’s not the best, but it’s my “daily driver,” and I *am* a tea snob.) and water, I rinse it every day and leave open to air dry when I remember, then swish in soapy water once in a while. I fill this with hot, but not boiling liquid. I won’t scald myself, but it’s a smidge over my drinking temp. Hold it upright, and press the button to release pressure before you drink. The one time I didn’t, I got tea shot up my nose from the vent in the lid. I haven’t had any issues otherwise. I wanted a 24oz cup with auto seal and this was my only option. The handled version is excellent, but only 16 oz, and I drink a *lot* of tea. Even when it’s empty after a hot beverage, you may hear a soft, repeating “pop” sound- took me a while to discover it’s just pressure from the heated metal releasing. Don’t be dumb, and this works just fine for hot tea. |
