| Dimensions | Just ordered my second Simple Modern 40oz water jug. And doing so made me question quality and authenticity of both water jugs. In my pictures you can see the dark grey (new) next to the light grey (1 month old). Both a completely different brand stamp and markings. The light grey (1 month old) looks and feels printed on, while the dark grey (new) looks much better being what looks and feels to be Laser engraved. So witch one is legit? Are they both legit or are both fakes? Now to the quality issue. On the dark grey (new) In the picture you can see there’s a small hole at the bottom near the center. I whittled down a toothpick to be small enough to fit through the hole to see how deep it was. Trying to see if it was only the powder coat or if the hole is actually in the metal. The toothpick went about a 16th of an inch deep which makes me think it goes further than just the powder coat. Which brings concern because now there’s a way for air to get into the vacuum seal, the letting in air and moisture to create condensation and eventually rust in the future. I hope Simple Modern see’s this and can clarify. I would gladly re review this product if S/M can take care of these concerns. |

My favorite brands so far are Hydroflask and Healthy Human. I came across this brand and was impressed with their wide selection of colors and products. I went on their website and was impressed by the product they offered. I figured I’d give them a shot and order a 40oz Summit water bottle. Well I’m sad to say I wasn’t impressed and I will be returning this water bottle. When I received the water bottle it seemed fine. I put ice in the water bottle at 7am and by 10am the ice was completely melted and the water inside was room temp. When I picked up the water bottle it was extremely cold on the outside of the bottle. With my Hydroflask and Healthy Human I’ve never had this issue before, most times the ice does not melt until 2-3 days later!! Beautiful color options however does not perform like other more expensive brands. |

I can’t resist the fun colors and will look for design improvements over my old water bottles to justify buying a new one. But I think I can finally put this bad habit to rest after finding the Simple Modern Summit.After starting intermittent fasting recently, I knew I needed to upgrade my water bottle again. I was going through my 22oz TAL bottle after 2 hours at work. I’m also really picky about the water I drink so going to the water fountain or bathroom to fill up was not an option.This 40 oz bottle gets me through at least a half day at work depending on how thirsty I am; often longer. I can fill from my PUR pitcher when I go home on my lunch break. The lid is leakproof and I like that I can carry the bottle with my fingers if I don’t want it weighing down my bag. It came with another lid but I haven’t used it yet because I prefer the loop lid.The color is absolutely gorgeous. I bought the Tropical Seas which is a purple/turquoise ombre. I’ve gotten many compliments on it from coworkers and customers at work. Sometimes I look at it and it just makes me happy to have calm, vibrant colors near me.My only complaint is that the bottle is very wide. I often have a hard time picking it up in one hand and will use both hands to pick it up and drink, which makes me feel like a child/Donald Trump. I wonder if making it a little bit taller and thinner would have been a better design choice. I will probably look into getting a straw to put in there or something. I can definitely see how dropping this thing could happen and cause a huge mess. |
| Material | I love this bottle it’s super useful!! I got the 40oz one. Doesn’t leak at all. I only use water for this.The only issue I have with it and all water bottles like this is the smell after awhile. Bought a bottle brush which seemed to help. Pulling the rubber ring out of the top is a little difficult but needs to be done otherwise you won’t get rid of the smell. I usually wash with hot water and soap for the rubber ring and entire bottle. I make sure the top and rubber ring is completely dry before I put those two components back together don’t want any mold growing in there!!🤢The wide mouth cap that attaches to the water bottle is great but does tend to get loose when I’m washing the bottle sometimes it slips off the rim and the bottle falls in the sink but no scratches as of yet and the color is still holding up. I noticed once it’s dries the fit is tighter, but I never drink it holding the bottle from the cap so that’s not a real concern. |

I have a 20oz stainless steel water bottle from another company that keeps my water very cold (just as I like it) all day…even when left in the car on a hot summer day. But 20oz isn’t enough. I wanted a larger stainless steel bottle that (I had hoped) would also keep my water very cold so I could refill my 20oz thru-out the day.1. It’s a large bottle, a little too big for my hands. The upside is that the top screws on very tightly; too tightly perhaps so that I have trouble holding this bottle and getting the top off easily.2. I have filled it with ice water from the fridge w/ 6 or more ice cubes. Unless kept in a separate cooler w/ freezer packs, the ice melts and the water doesn’t stay cold.If I had found this in a store, I may have realized right off that it was too big for me to handle easily. My bad! But I could get over that if it kept my water at the temperature I want (as my other water bottle does). The search continues (or I dehydrate over the course of my work day). |
