They’ve made me a lifelong customer for what is essentially a commodity these days.I got my first 22oz bottle, filled it up to the brim and proceeded to drop it on it’s head on concrete, cracking the hinge portion of the sport top (all 100% my fault, by the way) . I reached out to them via Instagram asking how to buy a new lid, and they directed me to the official service email address — Long story short, they not only replaced my sport lid, they provided me with a whole new (14oz) bottle that matched my original 22oz. All for free!Very impressed and very satisfied with this purchase. |
| Model Number | The only issue I have is with the spout cap. I feel it would be better if the spout was offset instead of in the center. But it definitely is not enough to knock a star off. Just me being picky. Keeps ice for for at least 24 hours and that was being left in a hot car in Arizona all day long when the temp was over 100. Great product. |
| Color | So we’ve had a lot of water bottles in this place. Our previous bottle of choice has been the simply modern bottles which have been great to us. In the photos see our 32oz teal SM bottle with pink lid that has been in use for over a year now. This is the 40oz Iron Flask. I love that it comes with so many lid options. This feels and looks just like the simply modern bottle but with 3 lids! The words “Iron Flask” and the logo are almost etched into the paint so the steel shows through. I love the spout top for drinking without making a mess. The kids are now using our 32oz bottles. The only negative I would give this bottle is that the colors on the screen do not match what it looks like in reality. I thought it was red and blue and it is more purple to like a wine color. Not anything worth taking stars off for because this is a quality product at a great price. Just be aware if you get this color that it isn’t really red and blue. 🙂 We will be buying more.Edited to add: AS a heads up… We live in the northern climate and one cold morning last week the handle bumped in the car and snapped completely off. So the little lid is no longer connected to the bottle unless it is screwed on. I was pretty bummed about that fact because it is a great bottle, but I’ve had other lids like this that have been through the ringer for over a year and haven’t broken yet. So just a heads up on that. I still love this bottle, just wish the lid didn’t snap like that. |
| Material | Update: So my previous review statements stand but I wanted to add a recent update. My IronFlask was run over the other day by an SUV accidentally, long story, and I am happy to say that it survived. It’s all dented up and not going to win best looking bottle, but it is still functional and and holds water.I’ve waited to use this IronFlask for several weeks before writing a review to be able to give it some solid daily use and also try the three different caps that it comes with to give it a true assessment. Overall it’s pretty good and I will continue using it. However, I don’t think that I would buy it again or choose it over others for the following reasons which may or may not be deal breakers for you.Lids – While getting three different lids to choose from was one of the reasons I chose to try IronFlask over others, I can’t say I love any of them. I prefer the spout lid where you twist off the quarter sized cap to reveal the spout. My main gripe is three fold. First I’d prefer the spout be slightly wider to allow better flow. Second, the carrying handle needs to be a bit wider so the average person with man hands can comfortably fit three fingers. Third and MOST importantly, I WISH it was slanted at an angle towards the drinker not straight up. These may be preferences, but my last bottle lid was angled and wider and I can’t help but not love this lid every time I drink from it. As far as they other two, they just don’t suit how I use the bottle.Lastly the quality of the color coating leaves something to be desired. I have never dropped, slammed, or questionably set this thing down in any way and there are still a few spots where the black color coating came off and scratched. I mean come on, most likely people like me use this daily as their go to drinking vessel. I can’t imagine how it would fair if someone is actually dropping it, treating it roughly, or taking it hiking or camping.Overall, it’s a decent vessel and I’ll continue to use it til it needs to be replaced, but if my comments resonate with concerns you’d have, you may want to consider another option. |

If the company decides to include one in the future, then this item would earn its fifth star from me.
