| Color | I had high hopes for this product, I visited the Yeti reddit to see what all the enthusiasts had to say, and really thought long and hard about if this thing could really be worth $30.Sadly, it’s absolutely not. The Hotshot cap for whatever reason maintains a horrible smell that you can’t get rid of, and it also makes anything you drink from this cup taste AWFUL. I tried taking the cap completely apart, rubber gaskets and all and soaking all the individual pieces in soapy water overnight. I tried soaking them in baking soda + water solution overnight as well (so multiple nights of soaking) and none of it worked. The small stays, and the horrible taste stays as well. I don’t know if it’s a faulty cap I got or what, but regardless, the refund policy says that if I used the cup at all, I can’t return it.Point is, this cap is useless. Whatever is causing that flavor is also just incredibly concerning, because flavor doesn’t appear out of thin air, it arrives as a result of a substance getting in your drink. Just think about that, I have no idea what I consumed, but I’m not happy about it and I’m never using this cup again.I saw one other person with a similar review about the cap leaking a petroleum taste into their drink too, so it’s not a one time fluke accident. You’re definitely rolling the dice with this product, and it’s way too expensive for a stupid gamble.Oh by the way, 12 oz is horrible, I should mention that too.
