| Dimensions | Several problems with this product. Many people have noted that this thing is “okay” but that it slips or gets loose, and then these same folks just suffer with using it. First off Bell touts this is a “no tools required” product; the machine screw that comes with it has a knob for tightening this around the handle bars. Well, that is THE PROBLEM, anything which needs to be clamped on to something else, especially something that will be holding up to 20oz of beverage NEEDS A SCREW HEAD or other “tooled” head to properly tighten it and why these are always too loose as reported.Then the next thing that will happen (at least on my 26mm handlebars (which this should fit snug on) was that the gasket (that rubber part that goes around the bar) is way too thin and skimpy…. but I discovered why Bell provides that skimpy gasket but I’ll get to that part in a minute. So what I needed to do was fabricate a properly thick gasket out of a old rubber hose and that would be the trick. But then you start trying to properly tighten the finger knob on the machine screw and in order to do that you end up needing a pair of needle nose pliers to get it tight enough effectively chewing the heck out that “no tools required” stupid finger knob…. which is why it should have had a screw head in the first place.So you start tightening the bracket down tight enough so it won’t be loose and won’t slip and then all of a sudden BANG the aluminum joint bends and the thing pops off falling to the ground. Problem is that the aluminum bracket is basically as soft as cheese once you get a proper gasket and everything moving to tighten down PROPERLY…. and then all of a sudden you understand why they give a skimpy little worthless gasket in the first place because if you actually tighten this down all the way the bracket will surely bend.I finally got this to work for me but I had to put the darn thing on a vise and tighten the joint back into place; replace the silly finger knob machine screw with a proper machine screw—- all of this after also fabricating a better gasket and now the thing is on tight and proper and won’t be coming off. It just shouldn’t be this difficult and why only two stars. I like the holder, it’s not too expensive and would be a 5 star (since I got it to work). But since I did half the fabricating to get it to work I should get the extra 3 stars for the new parts I had to provide. |
| Model Number | Was glad it fit my big chill timber. Didn’t think it would. Only complaint is that it wouldn’t securely fit on the handle bar, would shift from the weight the drink had. I used a sticky foam tape from another product under the attachment piece so it we’d be more secure. It does come with a rubber piece to keep the product from sliding but it didn’t help. Although it fits when full and heavy the liquid pulls the cup holder down, spilling said drink. Didn’t do that with a ‘Starbucks ‘ cup but when the cup sweats it is hard to pull out of the cup holder. Only reason I’m keeping it is because there aren’t any other options that I’ve found. |
| Color | So tried these out on my beach cruiser. They definitely fit, but it seemed like i couldn’t tighten them enough to really work properly. As soon as I put anything in it would just slide down. As in fall forward either spilling everything or the cup would fall out. I knew this was a cup holder and not a cage, buy almost no cups even fit. Basically a red solo cup and that was pretty much it. Your probably thinking isn’t that the standard size of most cups.. Well that was my thinking as well. I can tell you it’s not. And probably why it failed. You can only fit about the bottom quarter of a cup in there leaving all the weight on top. And causing it to slide down. Making it useless. I do not recommend these to anyone, unless you have some kind of grip or padding on your handlebars. It might work then, buy i really wouldn’t count on it. |
| Material | I really needed this for my bike. I usually do long rides and hate stopping for water. I thought this was a life saver but little did i know i would almost die. I was on my way back home and doing about 20mph when all of a sudden the bottle and cage decide to peek out of the frame and introduce themselves with my cranks. I was on my fixie and my tire locks up. I did not know how to skid at this point in time so you can imagine the look on my face. After squirming to stay up, the whole bottle system gets ejected out. I end up with a cracked bottle, a broken cage and a snapped strap. I highly recommend you add some adhesive silicone to keep this from ever moving and changing the bottle cage or taping the front of the cage to keep bottles from flying out. After doing that it works great. No more near death experiences from it. |

My water bottle bounces out onto the ground when my bike hits a bump. I had to put a nylon tie-down around the cage and my bottle to keep this from happening. The plastic cage screws onto the mount so you can replace this frame with a better one. But you’re buying half of the product twice. |
