At first, I was impressed by how the lettering didn’t seem to come off. I’ve never washed this thing in the dishwasher, and only ever used mild soap, and it’s never touched harsh chemicals or anything like it. Today the lettering just started melting off in my backpack and got blue ink everywhere, including my hands! I’m not sure if my bottle was defective or what. The worst part is that the ink is oily, and doesn’t seem to wash off with just water. |

And then filled them with cold water from my brita pitcher so they are both identical. Fast forward six hours, the pink one is room temperature and the ice is gone. The black one still had the ice left. Sixteen hours and the black one still had ice, eighteen hours and it was still cold. Are the colored ones made different? The reason I bought another was because I was so happy with the black one. |
| Color | After looking at several option for a water bottle, I settled on this one because they told me it floated. I tried it out this weekend at the lake, and it was great! I used it for water and for adult beverages. It kept them cold, it’s not too heavy, and best of all it floated! Several friends commented that they want one as well. And, to top it all off, the customer service is fabulous! I ordered the cap with the straw to go with my bottle. They sent an email showing me how to properly install the straw before it even arrived. Them when asked how I liked the bottle, I commented back that the lid had a very minor drip when I turned the bottle over. Without asking further questions, they sent me 2 replacement tops so as to make sure I was satisfied. I would definitely recommend this water bottle!Update: this water bottle does great at floating when you don’t fill it up all the way. But, today my husband made me a drink, filled the bottle up to the brim, and when I let go of it in the lake so I could catch my 3 year old jumping at me… it sunk to the bottom! So, don’t fill it up all the way and expect it to float!Update to my update: The customer service for these guys is amazing. I shared with them that my first one sunk so that they would know. Without question, they are sending me a replacement! THANK YOU! |
| Material | Unfortunately, this bottle (as much as I wanted to like it and was excited by the other reviews) did not live up to the hype. I received this water bottle yesterday (05/24). Upon opening the packaging, the bottle had a VERY metallic smell. I washed it – by hand! – rinsed it out, and filled it up with ice to let it sit overnight in the fridge. Took it out at 8:30 AM, and by 12 PM today, all the ice has melted. The bottle was not exposed to high heat (I took it from my house to my office, so it was always room temperature in air conditioning.)The outside of the bottle (while it did not sweat) DID feel very cold to the touch. At first I attributed this to taking it out of the fridge, but this continued throughout the day until 12 PM. I would assume that a vacuum-insulated bottle shouldn’t have any outer temp, but I haven’t verified that. The lid, however, did sweat. Not much, but enough that I figure a lot of cold was escaping.For a bottle that advertises to keep drinks cold for 36 hours, and based on some of the other reviews, I believe this bottle may be defective. Or there’s some false advertising going on. Other than that, I love the design and the size. I’m just very disappointed it did not work. If you want something that will keep ice for a little while and not sweat, then this is your product – but for the money, I would rather buy something that works as advertised. I’ll be returning and investing in a better bottle. |
