| Dimensions | This cap will get disguising about a week from ordering it. The seals are slightly porous mold traps that are hard to get out and get stained with mold spots. They will also absorb the smell of any dish soap you use to clean it, making it feel like you’re drinking dish soap even after rinsing and boiling it. I don’t know how to successfully clean this thing to get rid of the mold smell, and I’m frustrated it happened so quickly this time. I have other bottles with spill proof tops that don’t have this problem at all. Please figure this out. Use a different kind of plastic or use an additive that’s less likely to collect bacteria/mold, figure out some other way to get a good seal, make it easier to clean at the least. I know you can improve it but will you do it? I’m surprised that it’s still the same design after all these years since purchasing my first Takeya bottle, especially with more and more bottles hitting retail shelves. Improve your product. |
| Model Number | My search for a smaller opening cap is over. This fits perfectly on the wide mouth Hydro Flask (40oz and 32oz). I’ve tried CamelBak Chute cap (water leaks!) and even the Slashguard (it keeps falling out of the opening). This Takeya cap is secured, no leaks, and feels sturdy enough to make me feel safe holding the 40oz bottle by the handle. The smaller opening requires only a simple and fast twist to open, very convenient to use, easy to clean, and provides enough water flow. |
| Color | Granted I use my 4 40oz bottles a lot, but the lids keep needing to be replaced. The middle portion of the cap that fits into the spout breaks away leaving a hole roughly the size of the inner portion of the o-ring (see pictures). After I bought replacements (I have gone through 8 as of writing this) I made sure I was only tightening the lid (just enough) to not leak, which is the main reason I use them as I am incredibly spill prone…But they still only last a couple months if I rotate them in and out. I have gotten the similar Camelbak bottles which seem to have thicker more durably tops which are outlasting these. I wanted to try the newer “Actives” lid to see if that is a little more durable, but can’t seem to find the lids for sale on their own.If I didn’t have to keep replacing the lids I would be 100% happy with this product. |

Just over 30 days when I contacted Amazon, so no help there. Contacted Takeya directly, but never got a response. Other than that the lids work great, easy to drink out of while walking (without sloshing water on your face like the stock single piece lid). Doesn’t keep water quite as cold as the stock lid (apparently no lid with moving parts will), and you get a little condensation under the flip lid/arm, but other than that they work great. Just shake the lid to see if the o-ring falls out before the return cut-off date. |
