I bought the same marble looking 16 oz bottle from swell and it looks nothing like this bottle. Over time I noticed a green looking veins showing through the bottle and the color changing! I called swell and they confirmed. It’s unfortunate that I can’t return it. |

I never question the authenticity of the bottle until one day when I dropped it and kind of broke the cap. I ordered a cap on s’well’s official website (since it is pretty cheap with no shipment fee). When I tried to resemble the new cap onto my bottle, I realized that the rubber sealing of the cap did not fit the opening and water was leaking out. I was very confused (since I thought my bottle was authentic and should fit just right with another authentic swell part) and looked into this. Then I realized that all the swell bottles sold on their official website have logos at the bottom. Both of my swell bottles purchased on amazon have nothing at the bottom! Should’ve done more research before I made the purchase.Functionality wise speaking, I have no complaints. I am just concerned about the safety using this bottle: are the materials safe? The paint started chipping immediately and has continued to flake off as i use it and looks quite worn (I have had this bottle for 2 months – the photos were taken today aka 2 months of use). The biggest issue is the terribly musty smell. I clean my bottle weekly and randomly it will smell terribly of mold. No other Swell bottles that i have had before ever smelled musty/moldy like this one does. I have spoke to other people who have bought Swell bottles off of Amazon before and they have said the same things. I am not sure what causes this or if its just a fluke but its pretty disappointing for the price. |
